We’re looking forward to welcoming Mike as he spends time with our students, sharing what it takes to build a career through discipline, consistency, and hands-on skill. His session will center on practical lessons from the field—insight shaped by years of experience in oil & gas construction, welding, and leading crews across West Texas.
During this session, students will walk through real-world principles, including:
What hard work actually looks like beyond the idea of it
The role of responsibility and follow-through in earning trust
How trades and technical skills can lead to stable, long-term careers
Leadership built through action, not titles
These are lessons grounded in experience.
Perspective they don’t typically hear in a classroom.
And examples of what it looks like to build something from the ground up.
Mike’s path, from rig welder to business owner, offers a clear reminder: there is more than one way to build a future, and every path requires commitment.
